I thought migrating to Canada was the sure solution to my family's financial security. Only to realize that it was just the beginning.

Arriving in Canada in 2001 with my husband and my first born son was a blessing. Just after two weeks, I landed a bank job and was pirated by the local housing authority after eight months, and happily worked for them for 11 years, until the small town became quite small for my 2 boys.

We moved to Edmonton after 12 years and was amazed with the vast learning and earning opportunities that a bigger city has to offer.

I decided to open my mind to great opportunities. Listen, learn, understand and to apply the learnings. I told myself, "anything that can not kill me, will make me strong."

With an engineering background back home, banking and government work experiences, I asked myself: "What else have I not tried yet?" With lots of prayers, I thought of joining the insurance industry in 2014. Now fast forward, I came into some interesting discoveries which I am willing to share to everyone.

There are lots of tools and resources that are very much available to all of us but we never used and took advantage of, because we never knew they exist. It is like entering a secret and invisible door that actually was there all along and was just waiting for anyone who notices it.

I am passionate and excited to share what I learned in more than a decade in this industry. I want people, especially immigrants, to learn financial stuff earlier and much faster than I did.
